Curtis Pishon: 15 Years Gone

Vanished without a trace.

On July 4th 2000, Curtis Pishon arrived at his job in Seabrook, NH as a security guard. He was originally a police officer but when multiple sclerosis ended his career abruptly, a devastated Pishon began working a less demanding job to make ends meet. His shift started at 9 pm that night at an automotive part manufacturing plant.

Curtis worked for the now defunct Venture Corporation plant in NH

By July 5th, before his shift was even over, he disappeared and no one ever heard from Curtis again.

The Pishon case has always intrigued me. Despite being profiled on Unsolved Mysteries in the early 2000s the story had little coverage elsewhere. Though, every few years around the 4th of July, you could typically expect a small local news blurb. A simple rehashed reminder that he is still missing. Time keeps passing but we know nothing more than when it first happened.

Unsolved Mysteries, in typical fashion, panders to the what ifs and possibilities of what may happened. Suicide? Ran away to start a new life? I'm surprised there was no mention of alien abduction on show.

Realistically, the whole story had foul play written all over it.

Curtis arrived to start another night shift at 9 pm, July 5th. His parents mentioned he spoke of possible illegal activities going on at the job and being unsure of his personal safety there. After midnight, Pishon noticed his car was on fire and hurriedly tried in vain to put it out. Eventually the fire department came, extinguished the blaze and left. All things considered, Curt was said to be in good spirits that night.

Some time after 3 am, he decided to take a short walk around the building, which he rarely did given his MS. By 3:25 am a supervisor checking on him noticed he was missing. His lunch, personal items and torched car were all still untouched but, Pishon was gone. Police later noted an office door was kicked in, a vending machine was broken into and 2 cars were seen speeding out of the parking lot that night.

The overnight skeleton crew at the plant were all investigated, all leads were exhausted and here we are 15 years later. No arrests, no body found and no closer to the truth than we were 15 years ago.
